BIO

After graduation I spent one year at El Camino JC. Then I got a job with the US Post Office and stayed with them for 36 years and until I retired in August of 1998. While working for the Postal Service (they changed their name) I continued with my schooling and received an AA from Harbor College. In 1964 I joined the US Army Reserves and spent 6 years with them, receiving my Honorable Discharge in 1970. On April 15th 1975 I married Karen J Phelan (Waldron sophomore class of 1960) and adopted her two children Jacquelyne and Erika. We moved to Boulder City NV in 1978 to get away from all the crowds in California. When we moved to Nevada there were less than one million in the state. The crowds followed us and in 2003 with the population in Clark County approaching two million we again moved. This time we moved to South Dakota, again a state with less than one million. We love it here and see so many things that we had missed out on while living in an area that does not have four real seasons. We keep busy volunteering at the State Vets Home, and working to retain our earned benefits by being very active in the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Organization. This year Karen is our Chapter President and I am the Federation (state) 1st Vice President.     [7/18/12]
