For the past three years my family & I have been seat fillers at the Academy Awards. Our Son Shawn works for the Academy. My husband and I walked the “Red Carpet” this year and actually had our picture snapped by the Associated Press. We are in the background of a picture with Oprah Winfrey and Halle Berry. The icing on the cake is that the picture was published in our own San Antonio Express News paper and people at work saw it before I did. By the way my husband and I have appeared in several movies as extras and we also appeared back in the late 80\'s in the "Hey Dude" TV series showing on Nickolodian channel. we each appeared on four episodes each. I actually was regonized by students I worked with at the elementary school. It was a fun experience. Our daughter graduated from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX in December 2002. She got married in June 2004. It was a grand celebration. We travel as much as we can. A few years ago we went to Germany and Austria. We also took a Caribbean cruise. We travel in Texas a lot. We especially love antiquing. I was voted the woman of the year for 2004 by the La Villita Chapter of the American Business Women Association. For the past thirteen years I have worked as a teacher’s assistant in our school district. For the past six years my husband and I have been certified tour guides for San Antonio & South Texas which we do on a part time basis. We also do volunteer work for our local public television station, the San Antonio Little Theater and the San Antonio Conservation Society. Our two dogs Clyde & Champ fill our lives with love & joy. Two blessings from God. I count my blessing everyday. I am a lung cancer survivor of 5 ½ years.
