Retired from California Dept of Public Health - 30 yrs service and US Air Force - 28 yrs of service. [7/22/15] ***** I spent 28 years active and reserve in Aerospace Medicine with the Air Force and 30 years with the CA Dept of Public Health in radiation health. I retired in 2009 and now volunteer for the local sheriff's department. [2/5/12] ***** I am a double dipper retiree as the Chief of X-ray Inspection, Compliance and Enforcement for the California Department of Public Health (30 yrs) and an Aerospace Medicine Squadron administrator for the Air Force (28 yrs). I have three grandchildren (two boys in Dallas and one girl in Sacramento. My wife, Donna, passed away last December at 64 from a Giloblastoma brain tumor, so I am in a life mode change from being a fulltime caregiver to volunteering at Kaiser Medical Center, the Placer County Sheriff’s Department and doing some traveling with my grandchildren. I still enjoy boating, fishing, and camping in and around the Sierras and Lake Tahoe. Overall, life has been very good to me and I am still able to remember the 1960’s. Listening to the local ‘oldies’ radio station often brings back many special memories [7/10/11] ***** Retired from the Air Force Reserve in 2005 with 28 years of duty. Have been employed the California Department of Public Health for the past 30 years. Currently, I am the Chief of X-ray Inspection, Compliance and Enforcement for the Radiologic Health Branch. Have three grandchildren (2 boys/1 girl) and live in Sacramento area. Enjoy boating, fishing, and Jeeping around the Sierras and Lake Tahoe. Just as retirement is on the horizon, my wife Donna has developed a Giloblastoma brain tumor. There is no known cure and it is very aggressive. Why does it seem it takes a catastrophic event to make you stop and realize how important all those special momements we did not have the time really matter. Life is good and meant to be lived to the fullest. 1963 was a great year and I have many happy memories of you all! [7/21/08] |
