Linda passed away peacefully July 26, 2010 in the arms of her husband David after a courageous and valiant battle with Leukemia.
Linda was born the oldest of three girls in Inglewood, Calif. and soon thereafter she moved to Pasadena where she attended Pasadena City College and transferred to Cal State Long Beach where she received her Master's Degree in Education and Teacher Certification. After becoming a teacher Linda studied in Costa Rica and Acapulco, Mexico becoming fluent in Spanish and changing her personal course and dedication to those children who are second language learners.
In 1987 she married David McGee and moved to Thousand Oaks where she soon took a job teaching second language learners in the Oxnard School District. She taught for a short time at Rose Avenue School and then moved to Lemonwood School where she taught first grade and touched countless lives through her dedication and excellence.
She was an outstanding teacher-leader respected and loved by all who knew her parents and teachers alike. Linda enjoyed many hobbies and excelled at them. The family enjoyed hiking, backpacking, rebuilding trails and camping everywhere which included a couple of weeks in the Grand Canyon. She was an accomplished quilter and was a member of the Conejo Valley Quilters Guild. Her countless quilts are true works of art which she took great pride in.
