Son of John Frank & Thelma Bonita (Nivala) Komathy, brother to Larry & Debbie (class of 1971), & Tim (1976).

He married Beverly Haygood (class of 1975) and had four sons, Weston, Joshua, Jacob, & Brandon. He had many relatives that went to Lennox and Inglewood High School. The Nivala's were all related to him. John joined the Marine Corp and spent 20 years active duty from March 1974 - March 1994.

The family surname was Komjathy but his dad dropped the 'j' when he came to California.

Mr. Komathy and the boys, along with the Nivala boys, were all active in Little League.

His parents preceded him in passing as did his cousin, Jeff Nivala (class of 1974). He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly Haygood Komathy, his sons and grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.
