May 9, 1934 - November 27, 2018 Barbara Jeanne Baxter peacefully passed to eternal life on November 27, 2018 in Hawthorne, CA. She was 84 years old. Barbara was predeceased by her loving husband Donald and son John. She is survived by sons Michael and Stephen, daughters Lisa, Mary and Christine, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Barbara was a Los Angeles native and graduate of Mount St. Mary's University and enjoyed a long career as a school nurse and guidance counselor with Centinela Valley Union High Schools. She took pride in making an impact on the youth within her reach. Barbara cherished her summers and her travels spanned five continents. One of her most favorite traditions was tubing with faculty friends on the Colorado River. A celebration of Barbara's life will begin with a brief mass for family and friends at Holy Cross Mortuary in Culver City on 3 Dec 2018 at 1pm (gathering starting at noon). In lieu of flowers, friends are welcome to donate, in memory of Barbara Baxter, to the Mount St. Mary's University "The Mount Fund" at www.msmu.edu/donate.
